Day 1

The crew welcomes you aboard the Jacaré-Açu in Manaus for a briefing as you sail. You enjoy lunch on board on Lake January, rich in birds, reptiles and giant trees, then reach the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões run side by side for over 9 km without mixing. Navigating the Rio Negro, you head toward the Anavilhanas Archipelago, with dinner and drinks on board.

Day 2

Rio Negro / Indigenous community / Ariaú River

The day begins cruising the calm Rio Negro to Ariaú, a settlement of Upper Rio Negro Indigenous people, for a demonstration of their customs, dances, history and handicrafts. Continuing along the black waters of the Ariaú River over lunch, you can try tree climbing, water trail activities and piranha fishing, with chances to see squirrel monkeys. After dinner, you observe alligators and other nocturnal wildlife.

Day 3

Anavilhanas National Park / Jungle hike / Caboclo community

Explore Anavilhanas National Park, the second-largest river archipelago in the world with 400 islands and home to the pink dolphin. After lunch, a 2-hour rainforest hike takes in the fauna and flora and visits the caboclo community of Miriti. You spend the night in the waters of Anavilhanas with a special dinner under the moonlight.

Day 4

Madadá Cave / River swimming / Praia do Sono

After breakfast, a 1.2 km forest hike reaches the Madadá Cave, formed over 700 million years ago from sandstone blocks. After exploring it, you return to the boat for lunch and continue toward Jaú National Park, stopping for a swim in the Rio Negro and a sunset, spending the night at Praia do Sono (Sleep Beach) with a special beach dinner and bonfire.

Day 5

Airão Velho / Petroglyphs / Jaú National Park

Head toward Jaú National Park with a stop at Airão Velho, an abandoned city in ruins on the banks of the Rio Negro, and the Mirituba riverside community with its pre-Columbian petroglyphs. After lunch on board, a short walk visits the great Samaúma tree, then you reach Jaú National Park, ideal for birdwatching, with flocks of macaws and parrots, and visits to local communities, spending another night by the Jaú River.

Day 6

Jaú National Park / Aturiá community / Waterfall

Breakfast by the Jaú River, then a visit to the Aturiá community to learn about their way of life, orchard and flour house, with a short fishing-canoe trip to spot the Bicó monkey. Cruising the Jaú River, you stop for a forest hike and a refreshing dip at a hidden waterfall, and the crew prepares a special farewell dinner.

Day 7

Novo Airão / Return to Manaus

Cruising to Novo Airão, you have one last chance to interact with the pink dolphins and visit an artisan workshop, with a farewell lunch at the Floating Restaurant Flor do Luar. A transfer to Manaus is then arranged, or you can extend one more night at the Mirante do Gavião lodge.
