You can get certified by PADI, SSI or NAUI — well-known scuba certification organizations — and on completion you receive your Advanced Adventurer certification, recognized worldwide. With excellent visibility and rich marine life, Fernando de Noronha diving is among the finest in the South Atlantic.

The course runs with evening theory lessons and afternoon practical dives, including a night dive. A bilingual guide or instructor can be arranged depending on availability. Ready to dive in?

The Advanced Adventurer Diving Course in Fernando de Noronha is built around five open-water dives from different specialty areas, helping you discover which specialties you may want to pursue later.

Each dive typically lasts 30–50 minutes depending on depth, conditions and air consumption. On completion you receive an Advanced Adventurer (or Advanced) certification, depending on the certifying agency.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Open Water Diver certification (required) and minimum age of 12
  • Comfortable in the water and able to follow instructor guidance, including deeper and night dives
  • A medical history questionnaire must be completed; some conditions need medical clearance
  • Do not fly within 12–24 hours of your last dive — share your departure flight before booking

Never dived before? Beginners can start with a Discovery Scuba Diving (Batismo) experience instead — ask us about the right option for you.

Best Dive Sites

Fernando de Noronha has 22 registered dive sites, and the standard across all of them is high. Highlights include Caverna da Sapata (underwater caves and rock formations), Ilha do Meio (great for turtles, rays and moray eels) and Laje Dois Irmãos (dramatic rock formations and vibrant reef). Baía dos Porcos, Atalaia and Morro do Pico each add their own character.

The site for any given dive depends on sea conditions, visibility, safety and the rules set by ICMBio, the federal agency managing the Marine National Park.

Fees & Park Taxes

Two official fees are paid separately and are not included: the Environmental Preservation Fee (TPA), charged per day of stay, and the Marine National Park entrance ticket (valid 10 days), required to dive at sites inside the park. Values are set by local authorities and can change without notice — check the current amounts before you travel.
