Day 1

Arrival / Meeting of Waters / Night tour

Juma's staff pick you up at Eduardo Gomes International Airport (MAO) or your hotel between 6:30 and 7:30 am. On the way to the lodge you witness the Meeting of Waters, where the Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes meet without merging. After settling into your bungalow, visit one of Juma's observation towers, 31 meters above the treetops, for panoramic forest views. After dinner, a boat tour heads out to spot frogs, caimans and other nocturnal creatures.

Day 2

Jungle hike / Canoeing / Tree planting

The day starts with a jungle trek where locals teach survival techniques, how to identify medicinal plants and useful forest tricks. In the afternoon, you canoe through the igapos (flooded forest) and igarapes to see the forest from a different perspective, watching for birds, small mammals, insects and countless plants. As part of Juma's sustainability commitment, you also take part in the reforestation program by planting trees.

Day 3

Sunrise / Sumauma trees / Piranha fishing

Wake before dawn to watch the sunrise over the Juma River as the forest comes alive. After breakfast, the group visits the sumauma trees, which can grow up to 45 meters tall and live for centuries, while guides explain their importance to the forest and to Amazonian culture. Later, recreational fishing on the river focuses on the piranha, with the guides showing the best techniques and safety practices.

Day 4

Hiking / Visiting local communities

The fourth day begins with a hike across the forest, followed by a barbecue lunch amid the natural scenery. In the afternoon you visit a caboclo family to learn about their culture, traditions and daily life surrounded by nature, understanding the role locals play in the Amazon. The evening is free to enjoy the lodge's facilities.

Day 5

Departure

After a hearty breakfast, say your goodbyes as Juma's staff take you back to Manaus, arriving in the city around 12:00 pm.
