Day 1

São Luís › Barreirinhas › Lençóis Maranhenses

Welcome to your Brazil Route of Emotions! At 8:30 a.m. the group leaves São Luís, capital of Maranhão, for Barreirinhas (260 km, over 4 hours). After settling in, a ferry crosses the Preguiças River around 3:30 p.m. to reach Lençóis Maranhenses National Park for a light dune hike and a swim in Lagoa Azul. After a jaw-dropping sunset, snacks and a charcuterie board are served as the Milky Way appears — a once-in-a-lifetime moment — before returning to Barreirinhas at 8 p.m.

Day 2

Barreirinhas › Vassouras › Mandacaru › Praia do Atins

After breakfast, an 8:30 a.m. speedboat sails the Preguiças River past palms and mangroves to Vassouras — beach, lagoons and free-roaming capuchin monkeys (don’t feed them). Passing the fishing villages of Espadarte, Morro do Boi and Moitas, you reach Mandacaru and climb the Preguiças Lighthouse for a panorama of white sand, green vegetation, the river and the Atlantic. The boat then continues to Atins, a freshwater beach, with free time before returning to Barreirinhas at 3 p.m. (lunch not included).

Day 3

Barreirinhas › Parnaíba › Porto dos Tatus (Parnaíba Delta)

A later 9 a.m. start, then a 4×4 drive toward Parnaíba, with a last Lençóis stop in Paulino Neves for photos. Arriving around 12:30 p.m., you continue to Porto dos Tatus in Piauí to explore the Parnaíba Delta — water channels, the Morro do Meio dunes and flocks of scarlet ibises. At sunset the bright-red birds fly to their nests, a wonderful show for any wildlife lover, before the transfer back to your accommodation.

Day 4

Parnaíba › Coreaú River › Tatajuba › Guriú › Jericoacoara

At 9 a.m. the car heads to the Coreaú River in Ceará, reaching Ilha do Amor (Love Island), then a second vehicle to Tatajuba, where you can hang hammocks in the sea. After lunch (not included), a ferry sails to Guriú Beach — clear sand, blue-green sea, coconut plantations and mangroves (optional seahorse watching) — before arriving in Jericoacoara in time for its almost-mandatory sunset and an evening of gastronomy and nightlife.

Day 5

Jericoacoara: Pedra Furada › Lagoa Paraíso › Lagoa Azul › Buraco Azul

A full day exploring Jericoacoara by dune buggy from 9 a.m.: first Pedra Furada, an arched rock with a hole carved by wind and sea, then across the national park’s dunes to the crystal-clear Lagoa do Paraíso and Lagoa Azul for a swim, a drink and lunch (not included). In the afternoon, more postcards — Buraco Azul, Barrinha and Praia do Preá — and a last sunset in paradise, ending in Vila de Jericoacoara among restaurants, bars and the crafts fair.

Day 6

Jericoacoara › Fortaleza

All good things come to an end. Enjoy a last breakfast and Jericoacoara’s beauty before our team takes you safely to Fortaleza, capital of Ceará. The transfer can be arranged up to 6 hours before your flight, departing between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (lunch not included).
