Day 1

Cachoeira da Fumaça & Riachinho Waterfall

Depart Lençóis towards Vale do Capão (~1 h on the BR-242, then dirt road). The hike starts uphill for about an hour to a flat trail leading to the astonishing Cachoeira da Fumaça — the tallest waterfall in Brazil at 380 m — with spectacular views of Vale do Capão and Morrão, and a snack break at the top. On the way back, a refreshing swim at Cachoeira do Riachinho before returning to Lençóis, where the cobblestone streets, history and restaurants of this former mining town welcome you for the evening.
