Day 1

Historical tour in Lençóis

Start your Chapada Diamantina trip with a walking tour through Lençóis, a town that keeps the golden mining years alive. Discover its charming 19th-century architecture, the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário and the former Sá family residence, and learn about local culture at the Afrânio Peixoto Museum. As night falls, the streets come alive — a great moment to sample traditional dishes in one of the town’s restaurants.

Day 2

Cachoeira da Fumaça

Leave Lençóis towards Vale do Capão (about an hour on the BR-242) to one of the park entrances. The hike climbs for almost an hour before a flat trail leads to Cachoeira da Fumaça, Brazil’s highest waterfall with a 380-metre free fall, with spectacular views over the Capão Valley and Morrão. Enjoy a snack at the top, then return the same way with a refreshing dip at Riachinho Waterfall before heading back to Lençóis.

Day 3

Poço Encantado · Poço Azul · Mucugê

Day 4

Cachoeira do Buracão

An early start to Ibicoara, where the trail to Buracão Waterfall awaits. The serene hike along the Rio Espalhado leads into a spectacular canyon, where you can swim or float to the base of the stunning waterfall. Day 5

Águas Claras trekking

Hike through Águas Claras, a true natural paradise where nature appears in its purest form. Admire the iconic views of Morro do Pai Inácio and Morrão before reaching a natural pool for a revitalising dip. After a snack and some downtime, return to Lençóis, where the evening is free to explore the town’s illuminated streets and live music — or simply rest.

Day 6

Lapa Doce Cave · Fazenda Pratinha · Morro do Pai Inácio

Leave Lençóis for Gruta Lapa Doce, famous for its limestone formations; the 850-metre traverse inside the cave reveals underground beauty at every step. Day 7

Cachoeira do Mosquito · Poço do Diabo

On the last day of your 7-day trip through Chapada Diamantina, set off towards Mosquito Waterfall — named after the tiny diamonds once found here — for a quick, easy walk and a refreshing dip. After a regional lunch at the Serra da Cravada restaurant, drive to the Mucugezinho River and its cola-coloured waters; a 20-minute walk leads to Poço do Diabo for one last waterfall swim before returning to Lençóis.
