Day 1
Meeting of Waters / Lake Janauari / Indigenous community
The Zaltana crew welcomes you aboard with a briefing on the eco-friendly, low-impact practices for the trip. You visit the Meeting of Waters, where the Rio Negro (black waters) and the Rio Solimões (brown waters) run side by side for over 9 km without mixing — a rare natural phenomenon. After lunch onboard, a speedboat ride explores Lake Janauari, a 9,000-hectare ecological park full of bromeliads, orchids and the giant water lily (Victoria amazonica). Later, you visit an indigenous community for a captivating performance of traditional singing and dancing.
