Trekking Chapada dos Veadeiros: 6-Day Cerrado Adventure

Brazil
5 Nights·6 Days

Overview

The Chapada dos Veadeiros trek promises a unique and unforgettable adventure. Over six days you explore the region's rich biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes on foot, starting in Alto Paraíso, passing through the historic Quilombo do Moinho, and reaching the enchanting, little-known Chapada Alta — a journey through one of the most untouched areas of the Cerrado.

The route along the eastern edge of Chapada dos Veadeiros is an invitation to discover an unspoiled paradise: several waterways, spectacular waterfalls, riparian forests full of wildlife and unique geological monuments. The experience becomes even more special in a wild camp set in preserved forest, a moment of meaningful reset under the starry Cerrado sky.

Beyond the scenery, the trip takes on a rich cultural dimension through encounters with local residents — the true guardians of the Chapada's springs — who share knowledge of medicinal plants and the curious rock formations sculpted by water over millennia. This Trekking Chapada dos Veadeiros itinerary is more than a walk: it is a journey of discovery, connection and renewal, and one of the best hikes in Chapada dos Veadeiros for travelers who want true Chapada dos Veadeiros trekking. As a Cerrado adventure and a standout Chapada dos Veadeiros tour, this Chapada dos Veadeiros Brazil journey pairs nature with culture in equal measure.

  • Light, weightless trekking: explore without a heavy backpack, alongside local experts, for an authentic, burden-free adventure.
  • Enhanced safety and expertise: trek confidently with specialized guides, backed by radio and satellite tracking.
  • Diverse, sustainable cuisine: a carefully curated, inclusive menu with organic, locally sourced ingredients for every palate.
  • Comfort meets wilderness: stay in charming pousadas, structured camps or amid nature, treading lightly on the environment.
  • Seamless support: comprehensive logistics for all camping and culinary needs, so you focus on the experience.
  • Please note: This is a ‘weightless’ trek — a support team handles transport, camp set-up and meals, so you walk carrying only a daypack. It is still a multi-day mountain hike with demanding stages (up to ~23 km and +940 m of climbing on some days), suited to reasonably fit travelers, whether trying Trekking Chapada dos Veadeiros for the first time with full support or already experienced and seeking deep immersion.
